Song Structure Questions

Is the song uploaded anywhere?

No. The audio is decoded and analysed entirely in your browser. Nothing is sent to a server, so it is fine to use on unreleased material.

How accurate are the section labels?

The boundaries — where one part ends and another begins — are usually reliable on songs with clear repetition. The names (verse, chorus, bridge) are a best guess from position and repetition, so treat them as a starting point you can rename in your head.

What do the letters A, B, C mean?

They mark parts that sound like each other. Every section tagged "A" is musically similar, every "B" is another repeated part, and so on — that is the raw grouping before the human labels are applied.

Why did it merge two parts I hear as separate?

If two sections share most of their harmony and texture, the tool treats them as the same part. A pre-chorus that is close to the verse, for example, may fold into it.

Can I loop just one section?

Yes. Each section in the list has a Loop button that keeps the player repeating that part until you turn it off.

What kind of song works best?

Full songs with a repeating chorus. Ambient pieces, long DJ mixes, and through-composed tracks with no repetition give a much rougher map.

How long can the track be?

There is no server limit. A normal song analyses in a few seconds; very long files use more memory and take longer.

Does it detect the key or chords?

No — that is what the Chord Detector and BPM & Key Finder are for. This tool is only about where the sections are.

Does it work on a phone?

Yes, in a modern mobile browser. The analysis is heavier than a normal page, so a recent phone handles longer songs more comfortably.
